La Vinaria was born in 2015 through the initiative of a group of cycling enthusiasts of the G.S. Cicli Carube sports club and the Mayor of the Municipality of Montecarlo, Vittorio Fantozzi, who, together with the Municipalities of Porcari and Capannori, approved it unanimously.

La Vinaria owes its name to viavinaria, an event that has reached its 16^th edition and that was born to promote the typical products of the territory of Montecarlo and to highlight its specific cultural, historical-artistic and environmental characteristics. Born in 2000, the event takes place prevalently in the farmsteads that, for the occasion, open their doors to the public.
